Temple Renewal Project

Here's How You Can Help

Our Fundraising Efforts

Our goal is to raise $1.7 million. We are very grateful to have already received a $500,000 gift from an anonymous donor.  In addition, we recently received a significant gift from Nathan and Elizabeth Leight and their family, as a challenge grant to raise matching funds.

Your help is needed to raise the remainder of the funds for the Temple Renewal Project. We hope that a good portion of those funds—about $200,000—will come from the Chairs to Cherish Campaign.

However, we still need several additional major gifts in order to reach our goal, and numerous dedication opportunities are available.

Please contact Deborah Naish, CBB Executive Director, at 805-964-7869 if you are interested in making a major gift.

    The Chairs to Cherish Campaign

We've created the Chairs to Cherish Campaign to give you the opportunity to take part in Congregation B'nai B'rith's exciting plan of renewal and renovation. Please help us make these much needed improvements to our temple a reality.

One of the most dramatic parts of the plan is the replacement of our current pews with beautiful, upholstered arm chairs. Once in place, these comfortable chairs will lock together for added stability. Individual chairs can be moved around depending on the occasion, which allows us to create a more communal gathering space with greater flexibility, particularly during High Holy Days.

Your minimum donation of $1,000 will allow us to purchase one new Sanctuary Chair, which will be enjoyed by members of our congregation for years to come. A portion of your contribution will also fund other aspects of the Temple Renewal Project. A dedication plaque, attached to each chair, will acknowledge the essential support provided by our contributing members.

Bima Chair dedications are $18,000 and other major dedication opportunities are also available. All contributions are fully tax deductible. To take part in the Chairs to Cherish Campaign please download our Chairs to Cherish donation form.
