From the President - Hallie Avolio

Cantor Mark Childs

L’shana Tovah!  I hope you all enjoyed the Rosh Hashana celebrations as
much as I did. Many of you inquired about the “8 F’s” that I spoke of
in my Erev Rosh Hashana speech so
I thought I would send them out.

The idea is to write down 3 to 4 specific goals in each of these areas.  Then, make sure your list is in a visible place and share your goals with someone close to you!

They are:
1. Fun
2. Fitness
3. Family
4. Faith
5. Freedom
6. Finances
7. Friendship
8. Following/Leadership

Put reminders in your calendar to “check-in” on yourself every 3 months.  This has been a successful goal setting exercise for me and I encourage anyone to try it that is interested. Wishing everyone a very happy, healthy, peaceful and joyous new year in 5774!

Host a congregant

One of our congregants recently had major surgery.
She is now recovering and able to take care of herself, but is in need of temporary housing for the next month or so.  We are hoping to find several people who would be able to have her stay as a guest at your home for 5 - 10 days at a time. If you would be willing to welcome her in your home, please contact Itzik Ben-Sasson (representative from the Emergency Aid Comitee) at 805-259-4355.
