  From the Rabbi

Rabbi Stone
"What does it mean that we call ourselves the chosen people? Chosen for what?" Or, "If you question the divine authorship of the Torah, then what makes reading Torah a holy enterprise?" Or perhaps, "How do we relate to, or define, God?" If you have ever asked yourself any of the aforementioned questions, you may want to consider joining us for the Fundamentals of Judaism course, which is held most Sundays from 10:30am to 12pm

The rabbis teach that there are "seventy faces" to the Torah and that each time you open up the Torah to learn a passage, you are bound to learn something new because you are studying with a new group of people, or you are learning in a new environment, and most importantly you are a different person than you were a year or a month ago when you first studied a certain concept. In a way, studying Torah is an incredible spiritual practice because it helps us mark time and it reminds us how much we have grown and changed from year to year. So if life sometimes feels too fast, I encourage you to take a moment to find time to study. So whether it is the Fundamentals class, or any other opportunity to learn here at CBB, I hope you will join us in our pursuit of uncovering at least sixty, if not all seventy, faces of the Torah!
