You may have grown skeptical of my announcements, every several months, that we are about to present at CBB “one of the most important Jewish voices in North America.”  But here is the truth:  this Thursday evening, thanks to the Taubman Symposium in Jewish Studies, we have the enormous privilege of hearing from one of the very most important Jewish voices in North America, Leon Wieseltier, speaking at 7:30 in our synagogue’s Girsh-Hochman sanctuary.

Wieseltier has since 1983 been the Literary Editor of The New Republic, and is a brilliant, blunt, and incisive observer of life and society.  He will be speaking on Israel and America: Two Zions?  This is certain to be one of the most exciting, stimulating, thought-provoking evenings of our entire year.  Please do not miss it!!

This Sunday from 9 am - 1:30 pm is our Hanukkah Boutique and Sisterhood Used Book Sale. The Sisterhood Gift Shop will be open during these hours and there will be some delicious food for sale too, plus several members who are authors will be selling their books.
